For more than 20 years we have been working in the field of design of plant for livestock feed production, all this time building up our expertise and know-how. Through our experience, we succeeded in developing and building the Boil & Dry Process for Livestock Feed Production Plant, in which raw garbage and waste food are treated and processed. By installing the plant, the treatment and processing of waste food can be managed without problems.
It is time we opened our eyes to the fact that 20 million tons of waste food is produced in Japan. Careful consideration about its treatment requires us to establish a nationwide organisation for ‘Waste Food Recycling’. With this in mind, it is worth explaining the Okadora system in more detail.
With the Okadora system, waste food is initially treated on site by the Okadora Cyclone Dryer, thus avoiding loss of freshness. This dried waste food is therefore already sterilized and also reduced in volume down to between one-fifth and one-tenth. This, of course, makes it possible to store the dried material in quantity at the site in optimum condition and also reduces the frequency of collection. Treatment at the site in this way contributes to the safeguarding of our environment both by reducing the cost of transportation and also by a substantial reduction in the volume of exhaust gases emitted by collection vehicles.
Dried material treated by the boil & dry process is transported to the plant for livestock feed production, where foreign objects and substances are sorted out and a high-temperature sterilization takes place, thus ensuring product reliability. This is followed by oil extraction and protein adjustment and the end product is a high quality compound livestock feed.
If it is not possible to carry out the initial treatment at the site, then waste food should be collected from the site every day and transported to the plant for the boil & dry, sterilizing, and oil extraction processes.
Thus it is clear that the Okadora Waste Food for Livestock Feed Recycling System is the optimum way to deal with the issue of waste food management.
